Its first flight took place in 1925. It was a military version of a civil flying boat “Swan” and replaced “Felixtowe” flying boats. The aircraft was powered with two “Napier Lion” engines and was manned by a crew of five. They were in use up to 1937.
Main struts are extra reinforced with steel wires.
